The Fort Shafter Expo will kick off the week-long Hawaii Expo Series, traveling to five military bases in five days. Fort Shafter is the focal point for command, control, and support of Army forces in the Asia-Pacific region. This post houses the senior Army headquarters leadership in Hawaii and is home to the headquarters of the United States Army Pacific Command (USARPAC).

USARPAC is an Army Service Component Command (ASCC) of the United States Army and is the army component unit of the U.S. Pacific Command, except for units in Korea. The main areas that this command has jurisdiction in include Hawaii, Alaska, the Pacific Ocean, and Japan. As the Army Service Component Command to U.S. Pacific Command, USARPAC provides forces, commands assigned forces, and enables full spectrum operations to deter aggression, advance regional security/cooperation, respond to crisis, and fight to win. On order, USARPAC provides command and control for small scale contingency operations or serves as Combined or Joint Headquarters to support Humanitarian Assistance/Disaster Relief and peacekeeping operations.

The Hickam Air Force Base Expo is day two of a week-long Hawaii Expo Series, traveling to five military bases in five days. Hickam AFB is home to the 15th Airlift Wing (15AW), and 67 partner units including Pacific Air Forces (PACAF), headquarters, and the Hawaii Air National Guard.

This expo will be coordinated once again with the 747th Communications Squadron. The squadron is the focal point for communication and computer systems requirements on base.

The Schofield Barracks expo is day three of a week-long Hawaii Expo Series, traveling to five military bases in five days. This expo will be coordinated once again with the 30th Signal Battalion, headquartered at Wheeler Army Airfield, adjacent to Schofield Barracks. The 30th Signal Battalion supports the automation needs of all the U.S. Army units on the islands of Hawaii. This includes Fort Shafter and Schofield Barracks on Oahu, and the Pohakuloa Training Area and Kilauea Military Camp on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Camp Smith is the headquarters of Marine Forces Pacific (MARFORPAC), as well as the United States Pacific Command (USPACOM) and Special Operations Command Pacific. There are approximately 1,500 marines and support staff located at headquarters MARFORPAC and 500 joint personnel located at headquarters USPACOM.

The Pearl Harbor Expo & Regional IT Training Day will conclude the 2012 Hawaii Series. This new event will be coordinated with the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) Intec Training. SPAWAR`s mission is to deliver FORCEnet: invent, acquire, develop, deliver and support integrated & interoperable C4ISR, business IT and space capabilities in the interest of national defense. SPAWAR Intec Training provides training to DoD military and civilian personnel to obtain leading IT Industry Certifications.

This year's Expo and IT Training Day will take place at the Ford Island Conference Center. There are speaking opportunities available for industry and DoD personnel. FBC will invite personnel from Pearl Harbor, and all other DoD locations on Oahu, including those that attend the first four events in the Hawaii Expo series to join us. The idea is to make this an annual, one day mini-conference that touches on some of today's most important DoD technology topics.

The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) announces the 2012 Department of Defense Intelligence Information Systems (DoDIIS) Worldwide Conference!
